St Fillan's in the Community

Jesus said He had come that His followers might have life and have it more abundantly (Jn. 10:10); He also said His followers were to be light and salt and yeast in their communities and world (Mtt. 5:15,16). We believe this and express it in a variety of ways.

 

Doors Open

This is Scotland's largest free annual architectural event and part of European Heritage Days and supported by Historic Scotland. People pop in to see St Fillan's and will have a cup of coffee while they visit.

Foodbank

Each week at St Fillan's some members commit to bring an item of foodstuff which is stored and taken at regular intervals to the United Reform Church in Port Glasgow who run a local Foodbank.


Heartland Circle

St Fillan's Kilmacolm is part of the Heartland Episcopal Churches Initiative to affirm older people  and especially those affected by dementia. We call this Heartland Circle.

Christian Aid

This is the Aid & Development Agency of the UK Churches. It supports a large number of projects involving disaster relief, challenging injustice and supporting human rights campaigns, agriculture, education and health run by its partners around the world. We join other Kilmacolm churches to support this work and assist with funding appeals.
